Alison Hanson, Ph.D.

she/her/hers – CalOES Prevention Coordinator

Alison brings eight years of anti-violence research, policy, and prevention experience to the PATH to Care team. As the Prevention Coordinator, she is leading a program to support student parents and the University Village community. Alison is passionate about building access, equity, and belonging in institutions of higher education. Her doctoral research explored how survivors’ experiences are shaped by campus practices of response and remedy, and she previously worked as a prevention educator and confidential advocate in the CARE office at UC Santa Cruz. Alison earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology from UCSC, her M.A. and a Graduate Certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies from CU Boulder, and her B.A. in Business Economics with a Minor in Global Studies from UCLA. Outside of work, she spends as much time as possible hiking with her two pups.
